Holiday Milk Punch

Old fashioned Milk Punch is a favorite holiday tradition on our farms!

Yield : 6 to 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 qt plus 2 cups The Farmer’s Cow milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped and pod reserved
  • 3 fresh mint springs
  • 1 4-oz white chocolate bar, chopped
  • Crushed candy canes (optional)
  • Vodka (0ptional)

Directions

  • In a large saucepan, bring milk, sugar, vanilla seeds and pod to a low boil over medium heat, stirring often.
  • Remove from heat and add mint springs; cover and let stand for 8 minutes.
  • Discard mint and vanilla pod; add chopped chocolate and cook over low heat stirring constantly until chocolate is melted (about 2 minutes).
  • Transfer to a large punch bowl and let cool.
  • For a festive flare, place crushed candy canes on a plate; wet the rim of each punch cup in water, and then dip in the candy cane pieces to coat.
  • If desired, add 2 tbsp vodka per 1 cup punch just before serving.
