Big, fluffy, and soft cinnamon rolls that will melt in your mouth. These are easy to make and are a perfect anytime treat!
Prep Time: 1h 45 min
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 12 – 18 rolls
Ingredients
Dough
- 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm The Farmer’s Cow Milk
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup softened butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 The Farmer’s Cow Large Eggs
- 4 cups flour
Filling
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tbsp cinnamon
- ½ cup butter, softened to almost melted
Icing
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup cream cheese
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp salt
Directions
- Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, combine sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Mix well.
- Pour the milk/yeast mixture into the bowl and stir gently to combine. If using a stand mixer you will want to use the dough hook. Mix well until well incorporated.
- Place dough into an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Roll the dough out onto a floured surface or silicon mat, until it’s approx. 16 inches long by 12 inches wide and about ¼ inch thick.
- To make the filling, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
- Spread the softened butter onto the rolled-out dough with a pastry brush. Then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Carefully starting from the long edge, roll the dough down to the bottom edge and crimp to seal. Using a pastry cutter, cut the roll into 1 ½ inch slices.
- Place the rolls cut-side down into a greased baking dish (one 13×9 inch pan or two 10" round pans). Cover and let rise again for another 30 minutes until they double in size.
- While the rolls are proofing, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- While the rolls are baking, mix all icing ingredients together with an electric mixer until fluffy.
- When the rolls are done and still warm, spread icing generously over each roll.
