Easy Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Big, fluffy, and soft cinnamon rolls that will melt in your mouth. These are easy to make and are a perfect anytime treat!

Prep Time:  1h 45 min
Total Time: 20 minutes
Yield: 12 – 18 rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm The Farmer’s Cow Milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup softened butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 The Farmer’s Cow Large Eggs
  • 4 cups flour

Filling

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup butter, softened to almost melted

Icing

  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  • Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk in a large bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, combine sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Mix well.
  • Pour the milk/yeast mixture into the bowl and stir gently to combine. If using a stand mixer you will want to use the dough hook. Mix well until well incorporated.
  • Place dough into an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Roll the dough out onto a floured surface or silicon mat, until it’s approx. 16 inches long by 12 inches wide and about ¼ inch thick.
  • To make the filling, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  • Spread the softened butter onto the rolled-out dough with a pastry brush. Then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  • Carefully starting from the long edge, roll the dough down to the bottom edge and crimp to seal. Using a pastry cutter, cut the roll into 1 ½ inch slices.
  • Place the rolls cut-side down into a greased baking dish (one 13×9 inch pan or two 10" round pans). Cover and let rise again for another 30 minutes until they double in size.
  • While the rolls are proofing, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • While the rolls are baking, mix all icing ingredients together with an electric mixer until fluffy.
  • When the rolls are done and still warm, spread icing generously over each roll.
