Buttermilk
Smooth and tangy buttermilk is the liquid that is left behind after cream is churned into butter. These days, you can purchase buttermilk or make your own with The Farmer’s Cow milk. It is a delicious, multi-purpose ingredient that can tenderize meat in marinades and give baked goods a lofty rise.
Ingredients
- 1 cup The Farmer’s Cow milk
- 1 tbsp white vinegar or fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Place the vinegar (or fresh lemon juice) in a glass measuring cup, and add enough milk to create 1 cup of total liquid.
- Stir to combine and let stand for 12-15 minutes. The mixture will start to thicken. The buttermilk is now cultured and can be used in any recipe.
